Bare Bones Software have released a highly recommended information management application called Yojimbo
which competes with companies like Devon Technologies and Microsoft OneNote on Windows.
Over at Slate, there is a good analysis piece The Not-So-Fantastic Four
on why many of the web 1.0 companies have currently hit the earnings doldrums.
A combination of mature markets in the US and Europe, vigorous competition and capital investments have depressed short-term earnings. What remains to be seen is whether the management have the vision to build a scalable growth business or if they will join the ranges of the low-growth old economy that the dot.com boom scorned.
